Recover Files from Inaccessible SD Card - SD Card RAW Asking Format

Should You Format Your SD Card When Any of Situations Below Happens

Situation1: My Cannon digital camera stopped working suddenly when I was taking photos with it. So I stopped to turn off the camera and checked the 4GB SD card inserted in the camera. I didn’t find any problem, but it says the SD card is inaccessible when I turn on the camera. All the photos are still on the card without backup. Now what should I do to get those photos off the SD card. There is nothing wrong with my camera since I have tried it with another memory card and it worked perfectly. Please give me a hand.

Situation2: When I slot my SanDisk SD card into a card reader and connect it to my laptop, windows says the disk in drive is not formatted do you want to format it now. If I format my SD card, will it delete everything on the card? If I don’t format the card, is there any other method to fix the SD card not formatted error? I need all the files on the SD memory card.

Situation3: I am unable to open my SD card neither on my cell phone nor computer. The file system of the card has been changed to raw. Where is my data? How can I retrieve all lost files from the unreadable SD card?

What Should You Do to Fix SD Card RAW and Not Formatted Error with Data Recovery

Firstly, protect your SD card from any physical damage. Avoid writing new files to the SD memory card where you have important data.

Then, install a professional SD card recovery software on your computer. Connect the card to your computer and run the software. The SD card recovery software will quick scan every sector of your SD card in order to search for as much data as possible. Once the scanning is finished, you can choose and save all files you need to a safe storage media. The whole data recovery process is easy and completely free.
Finally, find the SD card on your computer and right click on the card. Then choose the Format option to format the SD memory card. After the formatting, you can use your SD card again to save more other files.
