Help! Lost Data from External Hard Drive
I deleted all the files from my Maxtor external hard drive, how can I get them back?
Manufactures make external hard drive with large
capacities for data storage, so many people would like to select external hard
drive as an extra device to save their important data. Although external hard
drive always does a good work to save large amount of data, you cannot avoid
data loss from the drive due to different kinds of reasons.
External hard drive has following popular
brands: Seagate, western digital, Maxtor, Hitachi, Samsung, Toshiba, BUSlink, Lenovo
and more. Those external hard drives have some differences in quality, but the
data loss disaster are quite the same.
External Hard Drive Says File or Directory Corrupted
or Unreadable
User1: When I connect my 250GB
Toshiba external hard drive to my computer, it is shown as a removable drive I:
but some files on this external hard drive are inaccessible. As long as I try
to open those files, a windows dialog box will come out to say: the file or
directory is corrupted or unreadable. I need help to access those files. Is
there any clue?
External Hard Drive Has Not Formatted Error
User1: I plugged my Toshiba 320GB external hard drive in my computer, but I was unable to access
one folder on the external hard drive. When I tried to access it, windows asks
me to format the disk drive. There is no problem to access the other folders on
the external hard drive. I tried to look for a useful solution but really felt
confused that I have no idea how to deal with the problem. The inaccessible
folder contains my little son’s photos, videos so I don’t want to risk losing
those files by formatting the external hard drive. Please help me out!
Problem: External Hard Drive Has Bad Sectors &
Needs to Be Formatted

have a Maxtor 500GB external hard drive but there is something wrong with this
drive recently. When I insert the external hard drive to the PC, Windows always
says the disk drive needs to be formatted before I can use it. But I can’t
format it since I have important data inside the external hard drive. I used
some software to check the external hard drive and it showed there are some bad
sectors on the external hard drive. So I want to know if there is a way that I
can repair the bad sectors on my external hard drive without losing the
important data.
