SD Card Recovery Problem & Solution

have a 4GB SanDisk SD card but it can’t be readable anymore.
When I open it, it shows disk in drive F: is not formatted do you want to
format it now? Then I formatted the card, but here comes the problem. After
formatting, I can only see 1000MB capacities on the SD card. I also tried to
use some data recovery software to get back the data after formatting but I
failed. Where is the rest 1000MB? How can recover the lost data from the SD card?
