I have a Western hard disk drive. I partitioned the hard disk drive into 4 partitions on my HP computer. Today, when I open my computer, one of the partitions cannot work properly. Whether I double click on the partition or right click on the partition to open it, it always shows an error message which says: disk in drive is not formatted do you want to format it now? I know there is something wrong with my hard disk, but I really want to get data off the partition before I format it. How can I do it? Please give me a hand.

Question: I couldn’t access my 2TB Western Digital external hard drive any more. My computer can recognized the drive as a removable devices and it acts as a normal drive except that I can’t access the data inside the drive. I have been using this external hard drive as a storage media for all my important files like family photos, videos taken on my holiday and my work papers. I also tried to format the drive but my computer said can’t find direct access or something like this. How can I restore all files form this WD external hard drive?
