User2: My 4GB micro SD card got card error on my Samsung Android mobile phone. I have connected the card to my computer which is running Windows XP operating system through a card reader and Windows pops up an error message "Disk in drive is not formatted do you want to format it now?”. Then I unplugged the card and reconnected it to another computer which is running Windows7 operating system, I got another error message "You need to format the disk drive before you can use it". I have no idea what to do now? I have many important files inside the micro SD card. Should I format the card to access the card and get back the data?

Things You Need to Do to Unformat Micro SD Card
Data lost due to simply formatting can be recovered easily with format recovery software. You only need to remember not to add more data to the formatted micro SD card. However, even if you have written new data to the formatted card, it doesn’t mean that you have lost the chance of data recovery. Why? You should know the reason why you can’t add new data to the card firstly. The reason is that the new added data will occupy the space where the original data has been lost. However, if the capacity of the new added data is less the capacity of lost data, you still have a chance to recover data which has not been overwritten. For example, if you lose about 2GB data but you only write 1MB data to the micro SD card, the 1MB data won’t occupy 2GB space. Therefore, you can still recover the data which has not been overwritten by the new data.

If you meet card error, you can still use format recovery software before you fix the error on your card. This format recovery software is free and you can download it from the link.
