I
have a Western Digital 160GB SATA hard drive connected to my computer. However,
it is only showing up in the Bios and Disk Management but not in My Computer. I
can’t even assign a drive letter to the hard drive. I really want to get the
files off the hard drive rather than formatting it. Why isn’t the hard drive
showing up in My Computer? How can I get back the lost data? Please give me
some help.
The first thing to do is to plug your hard
drive to another computer to see if it has the same problem. If everything
looks good when you connect the hard drive to another computer, it indicates
there is nothing wrong with your hard drive and your data won’t get lost. If
the problem still exists, we can continue.
Extract Data with Hard Drive Recovery Software
Since hard drive is not showing up on My
Computer, it seems like that you can do nothing to the drive. But with the hard drive recovery software, you can
easily extract the data from the hard drive because the software can detect the
drive, and then locate the files inside the hard drive so that you can get them
back. This recovery program is freeware with which you can restore all files
from the hard drive completely free. In addition to recover data from harddrive, it also allows you to restore files from other storage devices like
flash drive, external hard drive, pen drive, memory card, memory stick, mobile
phone, digital camera, floppy disk, etc.
